A recent visit to York to see the canola fields had us arriving in town during a torrential downpour and once the rain had subsided and the sun was starting to shine I wanted to capture the winter scene in this quaint town. It's been many many years since visiting York, where my grandparents had a farm and I spent many school holidays exploring it. I love how the wheat belt of WA has such extremes in weather, creating fabulous painting subjects.
