While caring for my 91-year-old mum, there was one particularly beautiful day that simply had to be captured. Mum loves a good cup of tea and homemade scones—and really, who doesn't? The only question is whether the jam or the cream goes on first!

So I baked a fresh batch of scones, arranged some of Mum's treasured china on a little table in the garden, added a vase of freshly picked flowers, and began sketching. I was captivated by the way the light danced across the table, illuminating this simple, heartfelt scene. That sketch became the inspiration for this painting, preserving a precious moment of beauty, love, and togetherness.

And yes... the scones were thoroughly enjoyed afterwards!
